Do the idle mixture screws have any affect on idle (what are they set at?). How much of the transfer slot is exposed? What is your initial timing? What rpm do you have the idle set at?

prostockcat 07-13-2015 12:56 PM

timing is 24initial 36 total 1100 idle mix screws at 2 turns all around stalls quicker if there at 1.5 turns was adjusting pri and sec for idle rpm now have pretty much closed sec and have done all the adjusting off primary it is better this way but it still is not right

From the little bit of information provided it sounds like you need some more fuel at idle... What size idle bleeds are in it? Have you tried messing with them? A couple things to keep in mind that doesn't help things are 1. Too cold of a plug ( what heat range is in it?) 2. Vacuum leaks.

idle bleeds are .040 i got to check the plugs they are what brodix recommends for there bb2 extra head no vaccum leaks

It's not very conventional but when I have an issue and I start getting into changing idle air bleeds. What I do is stick a piece of wire in the air bleeds and see if it makes a difference. If you have an .040 bleed and stick a .010 wire in it you end up with a .030 bleed. This is for testing purposes only. The smaller you make the bleed the more fuel you will put into the idle circuit. Just a side note I use a long piece of wire when doing this so it can easily be pulled back out. If you go down in bleed size and there is no difference then you will have to address the idle feed restrictors. If you go down on the air bleed and make matters worse then you know you need to go in the opposite direction...

AED is a pretty good company. Call'm and have them fix them.
Not being a smart azz, it could be a good answer.
