it never ceases to amaze me some of the things people post around here from time to time!bet some don,t know that you should never fill your gas tank more than3/4ths full or the engine can get flooded.:cartman::confused:

Someone is going to misquote the Ford study SAE 2003-01-3119.
This is a gross miss-representation of what SAE Technical Paper 2003-01-3119
determined. The title of the paper is - "Antiwear Performance of Low
Phosphorus Engine Oils on Tappet Inserts in Motored Sliding Valvetrain Test"
The test was a pure wear test using externally driven valve train
components. A complete engine was not involved. There was no dilution of the
oil by blow-by, no combustion products added to the oil, and no water added
to the oil. The results might matter if you are building a sealed machine
driven by an electric motor, but trying to claim this paper is a basis for
extending oil change intervals is not reasonable. Jekyl

I read about endeavors with big engines and blowers on here all the time, I love it but am thankful for my small block Chevys' .They just run hard and don't ask for anything.Jekyl

With that said whoever said changing your engine oil too much causes extra wear, I guess you need to call Merc and tell them all about it.

Probably for those that don't put oil in the filter. Start the motor and you'll get a few seconds of engine noise.

I always liked the rule..... N/A engines 20-25 and Blower Engines 10-15hrs. You always get some fuel forced and wash the Pistons on blower motors, you don't want fuel diluted oil.
