Thanks for compliment

I posted this before if you own a Mercruiser or merc outboard and have DWP or mid section water inlets.

Use these for running on the water hose and of course tape of your LOW water pick up on the front bullet with bright colored duct tape. Why colored duct tape - to help remind you and see it better to make sure you remove the tape after water hose running of the engine.

Thanks all. I already knew about the Port side running hotter but everything was hotter was the issue. Lake run proved the garden hose to be the reason. Engine still runs hotter than before but well within reasonable limits.

When was the last time you cleaned out your Heat Exchanger? It's not a hard task, and I could not believe the amount of stuff that just came out of mine.

I also did mine over the spring when I was installing the 120 tstat. Filled with CLR, then blew out with water, used a 17 caliber air rifle brush to hit the holes, then stainless welding wire thru the ones you can't get with the bore brush. Blew out with compressed air and a world of difference. I also back flushed the oil and PS coolers. Probably does not hurt to do every other year depending on water conditions.

The problem with running on the water hose is water is only on one side coming in when using the muffs plus it also pulls air not a 100 % full stream of water entering thru the drive to the engine.
