Baja 320 with a trim pump that just clicks
Hi Guys,
I have a 1995 Baja 320, nice boat, but today the Bravo One trim pump broke. I have twin 7,4 and Bravo One's, and the left trim pump have been acting strange for a few days. Earlier it would trim down if I had the steering wheel at a specific position, but now it just clicks. It have always worked up, but since it now is fully up I cant test that. So, anyone who could tell me what would make the trim pump just click? I have had corrosion issues with another boat I had, but then the pump motor would run, it was just the cylinder that wouldnt extend. Any ideas would be very appreciated! Regards, Johan |
Probably has a bad solenoid.

Trim switches on steering wheel? That would aim to switches otherwise I would agree with Griff.

One of mine quit last weekend. Click only up or down so solenoids were working. Brushes in the motor were completely gone. New brushes were 45 bucks, new motor was 65. Installed new motor and back in business. I switched the whole unit out with my smaller boat to keep me going for the weekend

Thanks guys, now I have something to start with. I was afraid something on the outside broke, since my boat is in the water all summer. I dont want to pull it!
Will start with banging on the solenoid, but I believe it is the motor. Only thing that is concerning me is that the motor ran up, but not down, earlier. Regards, Johan |
