Exhaust tips
 

Anyone ever try to use Permatex right stuff on sealing around tips? I use it on motors and its great. I sticks to everything. It handles heat and chemicals better then silicone. 3M 52 & 4200 are more of an adhesive, so not going there.

I`ve always used the gray stuff. Not sure if Right Stuff will put up with the heat.

Haven't used it for that... but if you do you may never get them off! this "right stuff" has incredible adhesive abilities!

I used the high temp ( red ) silicon to seal my through transom tail pipes then installed the trim rings because I couldn't get the rubber seals on for the swim platform was to close.

Damn Dan, love those avatars . What does your wife have to say about them? Well I used the right stuff, its good to 500* , if my tips get anywhere near that temp I will bail out and let her burn:cool-smiley-027:
