I have a 500efi with 260hours and 160 of those hours with a 2.3l whipple. It's been flawless and as turn key as a boat gets, I just want to keep it that way. I'm going to at minimum take the heads of have them machined with new valves, springs, and rocker arms. Everyone keeps telling me to go with aluminum heads. The only reason I don't want to is I'm going to do the work myself and if I switch to AFRs aluminum heads I'd have to have the computer tuned for it. Is this something I can just send to whipple and tell them what I have over the phone or does someone have to come lake test it with a laptop? Any input? Thanks

Unless you are 100% duplicating a combo that has already has and ECM tuned by somebody, you'd have to either have it tuned in the boat or on a dyno.
