Crossover pipe (coolant) question.

What is the purpose of running a crossover setup? What advantages does it have and what are the drawbacks?

Advantages= cooler water temps and cleans up front of engine and might add 5-10hp.

Negatives= too cool of water temp and too cool of oil temp and water pressure issues.

IMO, not worth it on moderate hp engines.
