Im going off memory so bear with me as im at work, but i wanna say the comp 924 spring would fit the bill for your combo . Im sure the shop dynoing your engine should be able to source some decent springs locally in a timely fashion. Sucks to have to go thru that at this point, but still beats flattening the cam and having to tear the engine down to get rid of all the metal shavings. Good luck

Thats the part number my book showed, but i couldnt find that spring listed in the spring section of the book, or online anywhere.

His book showed that same part number as did the invoice he had.

Springs checked out ok. Pulled a valvecover and tested the spring just to be sure. Made 572hp.

What was the boost ? Timing?

79formula 03-15-2016 12:49 PM

We ran his msd setup. Locked at 34*. We tried 32,33,33.5,34. The engine liked 34 best. No boost guage. Like a jackass I mounted mined in the boat and he didn't have one. A/f was 11.2 from 4000-5200

Where did it peak power at ? How was the torque

79formula 03-15-2016 01:39 PM

Peak power was 5600. Tq was 577@3600

MILD THUNDER 03-15-2016 01:57 PM

Close to what i was figuring. There may have been a little more torque on the table with a good timing curve.

Thats good numbers for what you have there
