What type EGT probes
I just put new stainless marine exhaust on my 516 BBC and I have a place on each side for 02 and EGT sensors and I was trying to find out which probes to use. I was thinking about getting 02 probes and a monitor to run them for setup in different altitudes and upgrades. any info will help.

I like this place for EGT gauges
http://thesensorconnection.com/gauge...-kit-gas-race- What I like about it is you can order extra length wire to extend the probe, mine goes all the way to the dash. I also have Stainless marine exhaust http://33outlaw.zenfolio.com/img/s7/...32343279-3.jpg Most AFR gauges use Bosh 02`s . |
DONT use gaffrigs, i had them at one time and they read 300 degrees higher than actual temp, i chased it for a while too wasted alot of time, fwiw, Smitty

run 02's and forget the EGT's my .02

Thanks guys for the info but I guess what I am asking what type probes for EGT and 02 and is there a management systems or gauges to just read the probes I am 1050 carb do not want it to make adjustments I will be pulling all over. I live in Tn pull to Phoenix 2 times a year. I would like this for tunning.

EGTs drop in temperature when you detonate.

You`re right, it causes overheating but the EGTs go down.
Maybe it wasn`t detonation, I have no broken ring lands or pitting of the piston crown just scuffed piston skirts. Side note: Ryan Retter pointed me towards this .. thought it was interesting since you can find the knock frequency for any particular engine. http://www.lindseyracing.com/LR/Porsche/KS-4.html https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oTYS...ature=youtu.be https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vlHrarAbyAs |
