Milling of an intake
I'm currently on the hunt for a set of blowers for my 540's, most of what I'm finding are tall deck intakes, I've been told and have known over the years that people have taken a 10.2 intake and milled it to fit a 9.8 deck, so give me some real world experiences with this, and yes I know I can buy new intakes but would rather buy two complete setups. Second what would be the ideal blower size with 8.9.1 compression, 305 AFR heads and CMI big tube straight back headers, and if cam specs are required I can provide this. What's the gotcha's in doing this, different gaskets, distributor issues not sealing properly ??
Thanks as always :santa: |
with your compression ratio i would keep the boost down below 7 lbs and would run innercooler, that being said a 8,71 or 10,71 would be correct size for a roots blower.a whipple 3.3 would be better.as far as milling tall deck manifolds to fit a std deck,it can be done but i think you should have no trouble finding std deck manifolds in the used market.

look on racing junk .com for manifold as for blower inter cool is a most if u choice a roots 10-71 will be better with a 540 the faster u spin a blower the more heat they make

just an idea know nothing about them
