Bulldog cam problem
Hello, can anyone help with info on the cam for my Bulldog, the cam I have is a crane cam that was bought some years ago, don't have the original anymore. the problem is when its in place with the sprocket bolted on, the lobes are so far out of line that they are close to touching the adjacent lifter, the number on the cam(although very hard to read)is I think H240329 134802 the casting number for the engine block is GM 14044807.
MANY THANKS FOR ANY HELP WITH THIS. |
Do you have a cam card with that cam ? I looked it up and cant find any info on it
That should be a mark iv bowtie tall deck block. What timing are you using? Something seems off . |
if it is a flat tappet cam this is pretty normal,it helps in spinning the lifter in the bore so the face of the lifter doe,s not go flat and ruin the cam.

I thought the Bulldog's used the same cam as the carbed HP500 which would be a roller.

Is it a problem with the cam walking forward due to the cam button / retainer?
|
Do you have a cam card for this camshaft with some specs on it? I can't find any info on that grind #.
