Input on which roller rockers - BBC

I am starting to gather parts for the rebuilt. which roller rocker is "better" either FT or roller cam - but nothing radical - around 550ish lift.

scorpion endurance 1.7
or
comp cams, Ultra Pro Magnums

I like both and have been told by 2 different builders - 1 likes scorpion - 1 likes comp cams

I have had real good luck with the scorpion rockers in the past. In fact I have 2 sets of the "marine endurance" scorpions getting ready to go in my blower motors. I haven't used the ultra pro magnums, but I would think either of those rockers you are looking at would be more than sufficient for what you are doing.

I like a rocker arm with good geometry. I personally like the Crane Gold Rockers. I've found out of a comp cams, scorpion, and crane rocker, the crane had the most centered, and narrowest sweep pattern on the valve stem.

Heres a chart you may find interesting. Not all rockers are equal when it comes to ratio.

I've been running the crower stainless 1.80's for 8yrs.they had perfect setup on .620"+ lift cams.plus if they need to ever be rebuilt, its relatively cheap.

Those would be my #1 choice in a stud mount rocker, especially since they offer backset rockers too if need be. Just wish they were a little less money.

What do they cost to rebuild them? In the long run, they are probably worth the extra upfront cost.

I bought comps best ones years ago before switching to shaft rockers, the nuts were brittle junk and cracked in half EASY , switched to arp nuts and they worked fine. Crane gold or scorpions is what i use on everything that doesnt get shaft rockers

Ive seen even the marine endurance scorpions have clips break and disintegrate etc in past few years and have switched to Comp Ultra Pro Magnum XD for all the stuff that doesnt get shaft rockers. On mud bog engines (800 to 950 hp arena0 with .800 lift cams, 280, 300 seat and around 800 open they seem to be next best option along with stud girdles for guys that wont pay for shaft rockers. The crower are even nicer, just pricey
