modified 502mpi intake on 502 dyno session at my shop
Built a 502 to sell my old Baja with, 4.470 srp flat tops, new 088 heads that I did mild clean up work on with recut used hp 500 inconel exhaust valves, proflow intake valves, springs set at 165 seat/450 open, morel lifters, hp 500 efi cam, a cutdown and ported 2000 502 mpi intake I previously made pretty good numbers with on my 540 w afr heads both NA and blown, there are 3 throttle bodys im testing, a twin bore 58 mm TPIS, a 56 mm one done locally and a stock one, with and without flame arrestor. no accesorys with dry dyno headers . This motor was done with decent parts BUT on a budget since boat is being sold once its done hence no custom cam and stock heads. Recently got dyno setup, no provisions to reclaim water and use wet manifolds yet since its winter here and will require tearing up concrete/ burying water tank. Any guesses? Will also be tuning using mefi burn software, testing it with 93, 89 and 87 octane. LETS HERE IT!

compression is 8.6-1 so might even be 87 octane friendly

490@5250

I'm building some 509' MPI's so I'm following! I'm also curious how much difference the throttle bodies make.
I'm guessing 480-490ish?? I'm with BGII. |
Smitty - will the motor be black or Merc Racing Blue ? This may influence my guess. LOL.
Hate to be redundant, but my guess is with the two above. |
I'll hold my guess.......insider knowledge ha-ha.

Okay Smitty, Spill the beans!
|
Tell me about the flat tops and 088's that 9 or 10cc missing from the party can really put the beatdown on people.esp with a rumpity non gm crate motor cam
but i have a feeling you are prepared. |
Stock throttle body I'll say 520 at 5250. Probably 10 - 12 more with worked throttle body.
|
Just for fun and a wag 502~525 since they roll right off the tongue, lol. Good luck with the test!
