Luckily never had issues with vapor lock, just with pump and issues inside the vst. Looking into just plumbing it back to tank just in case I ever move to a warmer climate

That diesel sender with return looks exactly like the sender that is in my tank, I was assuming that was my fuel pickup for the tank, maybe it is my vent hose, will have to look closer now.....if that is the vent could I tee into it for a return?

Best thing I ever did was **** can the VST crap, always vapor locked and merc. Was no help.,, sent my rails to Eddie Young he drills and tapped them so they can be fed at both ends and adds a return.. Aeromotive pumps and Aeromotive regulator with return.. CP Performance has a s/s coupler you add to your fuel fill line it has a bung on it. I had a weld shop add another so I can return from both engines.. Been on for 3 years, no issues, runs better than ever, always starts even if I shut off hot and let it heat soak with no blower. Pumps never even get warm.... First one sucked to do,,it's not hard, just time consuming to do but second was much easier... But like I said I had rails reworked and went ahead and had injectors cleaned while apart.. Looks cleaner now too.

Thanks for all the help, got most of the stuff yesterday hope to start the project soon. Need to place everything and get the lines and fittings, will try to post some pics of the progress when it gets a little warmer in the barn.

Sender does not have the return. The fuel outlet bung is next to the sender, it is not a vent. Thinking the easiest way is remove the sender and install the return bung in it. Getting ready to pull plenum and fuel rail out.

The Aeromotive stuff is the best way . Ive done it from Perf boats to Wakeboard boats . Works Perfectly. If you look at Volvo Penta , they have fuel returns. They have few problems.

Time for an update, didn't end up returning the fuel to the tank like i wanted. Would have had to take all the interior out of the cockpit. Returned the fuel to the spare inlet on the merc fuel separator head for this year. All in all was the best thing I have done for the boat! Running the best it has since I bought it, better acceleration and crisper throttle response to. Money well spent!
