need info on EMI risers

Right now I am running the EMI aluminum manifolds and riser's.. The guy at eddie marine said that the aluminum risers were good for 230 * duration before it would suck in water. Well I get a little water in my manifolds with this cam. I am going to a bigger cam and need to know if the EMI stainless riser's are longer to prevent reversion or what duration they are good for?

Does anyone have a measurement from the front of the riser to where the exhaust and water mix on the stainless risers?

Thanks

Travis

travis, i'm running emi's and aluminum risers also with 234 duration on the exhaust with 111* LSA. they run fine. i have the idle around 900r's though. just as an insurance policy, this winter, i'm going to weld some extensions on the risers just to be sure. probably around a foot long. it's much cheaper than buying stainless risers.:D

Thanks for the info. My new cam will be around 230/242 duration. I had the same idea of welding on extensions. So I might go with that. Do you think there is any performance gain with the stainless risers?

i don't know for sure but i doubt there would be any noticable gain. may be someone else has made the swap and can let us know. did you ask eddie marine?

I am gonna give eddie marine a call right now.. I'll see what they say..

i just talked to someone at eddie marine. he said that you won't see any gains by switching to stainless risers unless your over 575 hp.

i just chatted with eddie marine and they said the same thing they told me about the aluminum riser's. They specs say both riser's are good for 230* duration not any more, but he says some people get away with using a big cam. and that on a SBC like mine I probably wouldn't see any power gains.. and he said from the center of the manifold to the end of the stainless riser is 16". so I think i am gonna weld some extensions when i get the motor out..

Thanks for the info bro
