Pushrod Suggestions
One of the last things I need for my builds are pushrods. There are tons of brands and lines within brands. I want a quality pushrod that will do the job without having to choose the most expensive one out there if its not needed.
What are you guys using? 454 .04 over Dart 308 with Ferrea valves, isky 8205 sp springs Hydraulic roller cam, duration at .05 in the 230s, lift .63x Rpms will be around 5600, although this is a pleasure boat and will mostly be run 3500 to 4000 I measured the exhaust and need an 8.7 inch, haven't got to the intake yet. Thanks |
We typically use Manton or Trend
|
Manton, trend or Smith brothers.
|
So for Mantons, Series 4?
|
i use trend performance, they have most sizes in stock.
|
Looks like Manton or Trend since 3 in a row have suggested them. I will call them. Thanks.
|
I used Manton. Great service.
|
I used trend also, .135 wall to be safe. They also had sizes in stock for me, just make sure your size is correct, they are not that cheap but also not that much money....
|
Don't forget about manley they are very affordable. And ebay some nascar stuff out there for pennys.

3/8" .080+" will be fine. $80 each pair Int and Exh. $160 total for engine. Summit, Jeg's, even Amazon. |
What are thoughts about swedged end vs. one piece?
|
Manton - Trend - Smith Brothers
Manton has good tech service / finds time for all your questions as well |

Trend 3/8 .135 wall as strong as a 7/16 .80 without the possible clearance issues

This might help make sure you're getting your measurements right; https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o5is...ature=youtu.be |

I've used Smith Bro's, Manton and Manley.
* Manley sometimes because their factory was 30 minutes from where I lived in NJ and it was nice to be able to roll up and buy something the same day. * Smith Bro's because of reputation. Downside for me was that they are West Coast and with the time difference it was an issue from time-to-time. Lead-time was sometimes an challenge due to coast-to-coast shipping. But as far as quality they were always great and good guys to speak with. * Manton has been good to me so far. I just started using them. Sizes are unlimited and turn-around was quick. |
What lengths do you need? I have a set of Manton's that I ordered in the wrong lengths by mistake. If they will work for you I will sell them at half price. Never been installed.
|
Lots of good input here

I'll try to remember to check the lengths on mine to see if they will help you out.
