not the alternator, key switch, main harness,MPR, need to ohm out the harness from the ecm trigger ground to relay. and see if there is a short there. also in the mean time we are getting a lender ecm. this has beena good onw and will keep everyone updated when fixed.

I kind of had a feeling to begin with - the PCM like I said I had this before with 2 - ECM 555's and 1 PCM 555 that the engine would not shut off but you always have to check out all the other stuff as well. Especially the easy stuff beforehand

As SFehrman (who if you did not know is Steven Fehrman, the driver of 2015 World SVL Champ SunPrint #51) said, we have not figured it out yet. Definitely not the alternator or ignition switch. Steve and SunPrint crewman Jeff Westbrook, worked on it past 9pm last night. We will get there sooner or later. Frustrating in the meantime, but if I had to hazard a guess, the ECM is headed back to Whipple!

Well, turns out there was a problem in the ECM's processor that could not be repaired. That's gonna leave a mark. New ECM on the way! Thanks everyone for the help.

Thanks for posting the update and like I said I have that same problem before, 3 in my hands as well. This makes the 5 one I have heard about being an computer problem. Total of 8 for the same problem but that that still is a very low % of failure rates.

Can't really complain. Ten years old, and it's been raced. Plus, it is a small little component that can probably fixed some day. Just not cost effective to keep chasing the problem. At least I'll be back on the water next weekend. Thanks again for the help.

If the boat will not shut off, the boat is telling you its not done boating for the day. The boat is wise, listen to the boat, now back away from the dock and head for the horizon.
