EFI airflow..

I was wondering, Does it matter which direction a progressive 4 barrel style throttle body is mounted on the intake ?

I'm almost done rigging my engine and have found that the throttle linkage arm will interfere with the carb hat if I put my intercooler on the port side of the boat...

My throttle body is a Dominator style with progressive linkage. The primaries open about 1/4 of the way before the secondaries...

Just wondering if I can turn it backwards or will it cause issues ?
THANKS !

Doug

With boost, it definitely won't matter.

No issue. It's not stagger jetted. LOL.

LOL... Hey, so I'm a little nervous.. :)

Been building this engine for 4 years and should FINALLY be ready for Dyno in the next couple of weeks...

BTW: If you have some room, they make spacers to go under the hat. I believe in 1" increments or so.

Agree with above, no big deal. Definitely want to keep the linkage progressive or it gets a little trickier to tune the part throttle transition unless you're running a bypass valve. We messed around with clocking the hat because I'd heard it could cause issues, it didn't have any noticeable effect.

Haven't had it in the boat yet. (will set it in this weekend for a trial fit) but my initial measurements come out to it being 2" taller than my sun pad

Looks like I won't need to turn the throttle body after all...

With the carb hat turned towards the rear, the intercooler hose will fit under the exhaust if I relocate my oil cooler to the floor...

fun stuff... :)
