EFI airflow..
I was wondering, Does it matter which direction a progressive 4 barrel style throttle body is mounted on the intake ?
I'm almost done rigging my engine and have found that the throttle linkage arm will interfere with the carb hat if I put my intercooler on the port side of the boat... My throttle body is a Dominator style with progressive linkage. The primaries open about 1/4 of the way before the secondaries... Just wondering if I can turn it backwards or will it cause issues ? THANKS ! Doug http://i130.photobucket.com/albums/p...pskpddcd5v.jpg |
With boost, it definitely won't matter.

No issue. It's not stagger jetted. LOL.

LOL... Hey, so I'm a little nervous.. :) Been building this engine for 4 years and should FINALLY be ready for Dyno in the next couple of weeks... |
BTW: If you have some room, they make spacers to go under the hat. I believe in 1" increments or so.

Agree with above, no big deal. Definitely want to keep the linkage progressive or it gets a little trickier to tune the part throttle transition unless you're running a bypass valve. We messed around with clocking the hat because I'd heard it could cause issues, it didn't have any noticeable effect.

Looks like I won't need to turn the throttle body after all...
With the carb hat turned towards the rear, the intercooler hose will fit under the exhaust if I relocate my oil cooler to the floor... fun stuff... :) http://i130.photobucket.com/albums/p...psilkctnk0.jpg |
