The only place I've gotten them from for the mag mpi motors was RC engineering. They have a bunch of different sizes, and they come with a flow sheet. www.rceng.com

I've gotten Kehein style from RC injection too.
Regarding raising fuel pressure for tuning I've never been an advocate for doing so simply because of what you've observed, the injector variance and flow lock up. Raising fuel pressure is a global change and a crutch. Size the injector to the HP desired with a little headroom but not so big you can't control the idle. Keep the DC to 80% or less. Preaching to the choir, I know. |

Until i saw how bad it spreads the variance i was all for it, now i firm believer in just sizing the injectors big enough or even a little too big , saw higher variance in the higher pw settings too, if could keep it at 7 or 8 ms the spreads not as bad, at least with the injectors i tested, Smitty |

Total junk, showed up sat in mail. Flowed today, they randomly stall around 40 psi, by 45 psi they ALL stall, flows so far apart totally unusable. I cant imagine someone buying them and the nightmare they would have trying to run them without flow testing. They claim flow tested and matched, YEAH RIGHT

Several sites are selling these as marelli iwp069s but they are garbage imports
|
^^^^ thats the one I was talking about in the other thread. 99% are junk knock offs. Do not buy them unless from a known trusted source that can 100 % tell you they are OEM and true Marelli's. Actually to many junk injectors are sold in the market place.
Marelli's are made in Italy only. Many have knocked off there injectors even right down to the engraving looks just like the OEM's. I have flow tested so many of these junk injectors that I can not believe how bad they are. You can not even get half of them to flow the same volume nor matched what the real OEM;s have. Word of warning - you get what you pay for, |
I think this relates to a bigger issue happening in our world; less than OEM quality on a real high percentage of replacement parts. I have an old diesel truck and the original starter lasts 13 years. I go through 2 more in 6 months before I finally find a good one. These stories go on and on. To me a lifetime warranty means zilch. I just want decent service life. This injector thing is equally disturbing with a lot of our boats having complex (when compared to a carb) and aging efi systems. Its sad when having an injector flow tester is nearly mandatory when replacing a set of injectors. I feel more inclined to just pony up the extra $$$ for Merc replacement parts when available, but who knows how good they really support replacement parts after so many years. I always enjoy Arctic's informative posts.

Everything is like that these days unfortunately. I just put my 3rd lifetime water pump on my truck. The original lasted over 10 yrs and the replacements haven't made it much past 6 months. It's a damn shame.
By the way Smitty, what injector tester is that? How much? You can pm or call me if you want. Eddie |
