Bypass in oil filter.
In my 525sc I have no bypass in the block. All my oil goes to the filter. Do I want a filter with a bypass in it. I currently have a k and n 3002 filter on it.

I personally run the Mobil 1 M-302 (99% of the time) it is a high pressure oil filter. It either doesn't have a bypass or is a high spring pressure by pass. I have my blocks plugged and ALL of my oil goes through the filter. If there is an issue on my boat that plugs a filter, I have bigger issues than a plugged oil filter. I'm no expert, just 9 years of good results.

same here. Perfect place for a nickel. Fits nicely in place of bypass valve. Cheapest part on any BBC. If your filter plugs up and prevents flow your not having a good day anyway.

No bypass in filter.... K&N don't have bypasses so that's good.

No bypass in block.
I change from filter w/bypass to filter w/out bypass every other time. Keeps the engine guessing. Don't want it to think it's safe all the time. You know. like a random drug test for us humans. LOL. |

I swore when I read up they did not, normally any HP filter does not

K&N makes them both ways.
Cool thing about Summit's website is the use of search filters. They actually have 'Filter Bypass Relief Valve' as a search filter on these: http://www.summitracing.com/search/b...ibanner=SREPD5 |
Nice. Now what's better, K&N or Wix?
