FWIW I emailed Fitech and was told - warranty goes bye bye if marine application. Too bad too cause I thought it would be great for my brick of a boat.
Also - the screen harness thing has limited length. Wont reach Dash on my pig. again FWIW Swampy |
sounds like to me they do not have their crap together yet...just my .02 worth

I'm curious if there's any new developments on the Fi front?
|
Have said this in other threads but FiTech is not a good marine system just in the fact you cant turn the wide band/self-learn off after its been learned. If your/when your 02 gets wet it will cause the system to go way rich.
Here is a good solution that's the same cost as FiTech. https://www.holley.com/products/fuel.../parts/550-510 I have Holley system on my boat and its the easiest system to tune and get running that I have ever used. |
will they support that Holley in a marine environment ?? doesn't say so in the description ^^^^^^
|
Yea, I think the sniper is the way to go. I was looking for the other fi thread but this one popped up.

But I bet if you did a great carb set up and ignition set up would blow its doors off that Holley in a dyno comparison
I would pass on the Fi Tech as I know someone who has put out that it has problems. He would not even use it on cars and he is a looked at as being one of the few top EFI tuners for many fields. |

I would pass on the Fi Tech as I know someone who has put out that it has problems. He would not even use it on cars and he is a looked at as being one of the few top EFI tuners for many fields. It started and ran so much better then the carb did, keep in mind its a car and see 40-100 degree swings. We were able to take up the point a few in the AFR table and re-run it and we made more it wasn't push I want to say less then 10 but the over-all drivabilty of the vehicle was better. I honestly would have a hard time buying another carb with this set-up. Also keep in mind the 1050 was dialed in on the Dyno and the Sniper was set the AFR and drive. We had the dyno to verify but we didn't need it, I'm guessing that the 1050 would have made less a lot less HP if it wasn't dialed in on the dyno. |
That's good input there^^^. I spend so little time at max power that drivability is paramount, especially since the girlfriend jockies the boat on occasion. Carbs have their place, but this is a "good enough" setup for me.
Any thoughts on FiTech's command center? It seems to simplify setup and I like the idea of my mechanical pump doing the heavy lifting. http://fitechefi.com/products/40003/ |
