Apache77,
WOW, be still my heart!!! What manufacture is the 632? Did you paint the exhuast or does KE supply them in that color? Reason for asking, I have a pair in black, nice but could be better. |
I gotta agree with apache. For 25K you can have an 850+hp 800+ ft/# 632 WITH CMI tube tops. I'll post a picture of mine tomm. Merlin block, callies crank, Oliver rods, JE pistons, dart heads, Jesel shaft rockers, dart TR, 2X775 Race demons.;)

Apache77, very nice, very clean! I like BIG cubes N/A vs. blower apps too!
B4M/Mark, you thinkin' of gettin' a pair of them KE's? BTW do you see that Thermo Filter on the right front of KE's engine? Those things are very nice! That's exactly what I have on the front of my engines. Of course in the picture you don't see any hoses coming off of it. It has 4 out/inlets and takes 4 of the -12 oil lines. Two coming from the block and 2 going to the oil coolers. When those are on, it doesn't quite give it that clean look as shown in the picture. As matter of fact that is what we have been messing with a lot lately in order to get it plumed correctly and looking half way decent. Once the oil lines are on it looks a little "busy" as compared to the picture without the hoses. That's why it's important to get the fittings with the best angles as possible so that it has the right professional appearance/estetics and not look funky. If I end up going on Saturday (keep your fingers crossed) I will show you what I mean. BTW, I would take the KE over the Merc too! :) |
Doesn't the price of the 575 also include the drive??
|
You want it with the XR drive, its $51,000...F'n sick!
|
Hey apache, who built the motor for you, I am still looking at few builders now and in theN/A 632-650ci range. Is that dynoed HP? what was the tq especially around 3500rpm. Great looking piece and to echo what somebody else asked w or w/o exhaust.
|
hey apache
Let's put that pretty engine in your truck (the back), drive an hour south and lets slip that puppy in my Daytona- very sweet package.
Is that a local shop? What will it spin to- 6ish? How's the idle and driveability? Good luck! |

the idle is fine just like a normal motor with a lobe to it, you would have to see and hear this motor to appreciate what it does.
|
Is that an invitation?
Joplin's not too far, I'd buy fluids and consider it a good investment in future boating decisions. Let me know!

I think my motor will have more appeal in the long run, nothing aginst KE and if this was my last boat ever I might consider them, but when I go to sell my boat I feel the blue motor and the ITS will be worth more than a KE setup. Just mho |
500 EFI with a XZ drive no exhaust $36,500

That’s all right Fresh water cooling no temperamental SC Motor to deal with .and big Power ! :) |
Too Old
I only have experience with with half of your question but it would be interesting to compare. Both my 575 SCi's have just been rebuilt. Anyone have some new KE 675's they want to trade? |
Yeah, no kidding...
|
Didn't they rename those motors the JS675HP ;) :D :D
|
It's a shame I would like to see KE back in business. I was seriously thinking of getting the 675's for the fountain at last years miami boat show. Now with everything so messed up. It would not be a concideration.
or maybe "repo675's" |
Obviously I'm going to keep my 575's and I hope I don't have to have them worked on tomorrow, next week and next year.
They had to work on them yesterday, last week and last year. Maybe they will be alright now. I do like the way they look and sound. |
They do sound pretty mean considering how mild they really are for a blower motor:D
|
going back to the origonal question. The 575sci are efi and that is DAMN nice. And they can make the same power with minimal modifications. And the efi idles so damn smoothly even when modified fires right up no surge just nice smooth easy running liek a top.
|
My engines are basically 575's with carbs instead of injection. They should dyno around 650/ea.
The 575 can make 650 no sweat. $20k - 25k each should get you there! Blower motors are much quieter around the dock and use less aggressive cams. The also idle at lower RPM's as a general rule. Blower motors are not tempermental if the proper blower is used (stick with the weiand 256) and the engine is built for it (low compression). Contact Fowler engines: http://www.fowlerengines.com/ Tell them you want a set of "Bob's" new engines. |

It really is ashame, he had some real great products, never ran his engines.
|
She will honor the warranty?? HA!! She didnt even know how to clean her boat let alone build or repair an engine....... Keith is the KE, everyone else is just pretending.
|
Originally posted by Back4More Hate to say it but she is the only one that will still honor the KE warranty...Keith will just laugh in your face.:( |

I think that I would be hard pressed to either go large displacement 4.5" bore to prevent head gasket leaks, long stroke i.e., 4.625" - quad rotor Whipples - EFI - you can make 1000hp without breaking a sweat - should idle at 750 rpm's and last at least two seasons without trouble. pull them during the second winter - hone/ring and back in. ---- now to the drive - would have to be a Arnerson
