Need help - What head gasket for Mercriuser 350 bored .40 over.
 

Small blocks are not my forte! I only see one marine head gasket on Summit. FEL-17030 Bore size 4.125.
There has to be more than one?

There are loads of sbc gaskets. If you get coated or stainless you are good.
Figure out how thick you want and start searching. If you have enough thickness to get a stainless MLS they are the ones that seal well.
I needed a thin one cause my pistons are stock height .025 in the hole so I got a .015 shim that's I think 4.060. This way I got the right quench distance. .040....
You can find part #'s at the manufacturers sites like felpro, cometic etc. then search the part numbers at your choice of supplier. That's how I get what I want at the best prices.
Summit has a search but it's not that easy to use. I can't understand how to find anything in Jegs. Don't know if Competition Products has head gaskets. Maybe. CP shows parts but they are usually a little high on the dollars compared to mass sellers like Summit.
Speedway seems to have more cheap stuff but some real HP stuff.
And if you get the PN's there's always ebay and amazon. Just be sure the part # are what you want. They aren't exactly gear heads at ebay.

This is a stock rebuild. Nothing fancy. This can't be this hard😡

These are what I use on stock rebuilds. At 4.125 they cover all over bores on a 350.

I've used the following on marine builds. Felpro 1010, 1014 and 1094.

1010's are .039 and have a copper sealing ring around the cc. They will not brinell an aluminum head saving the need to resurface the head if it's pulled and needs reinstalled.

1014's are .039 with a stainless sealing ring. They are up to 4.200 bore and will brinell aluminum heads.

1094s are a .015 coated steel shim. I sprayed these with copper gasket sealant before installing.

Never a hg problem with any of the above on 400-475hp builds. As with anything, surface finish and cleanliness is key when installing. I would use the gasket Mr. Maine posted or the felpro 1010.
