I broke lines before the filter and at the pump line at helm. Both have fluid when turning pump with drill. After continuous turns of wheel, I have no fluid at Left or Right fittings at helm much less at Rams. I assume I am not pulling more fluid because the lines to helm and back to cooler/tank are full. Seems like a bad helm. I have swapped the fittings and headed back with my Latham larger helm.

Replaced the helm with my Latham and things immediately started working. Thanks for all the input. I felt comfortable enough with the install to believe that something was wrong.
After reading about helm sizes and ways to measure, I am glad I changed as the Latham I had has more volume than the Char Lynn. I might actually want more as it seemed like it takes a lot of turns between locks. I was rushed and didn't get to count tonight with helper. |
Anyone think going to -8 lines will reduce lock to lock turns if the -6 is choking down the pump?
