Marine grade wiring?

Looking at re-doing some lighting wiring, and adding a radio and speakers, on my son's fishing boat before he loads up and takes it back to his home. He's got a center console, and it's a "wet" ride in salt water. (Most of his boating is in the Atlantic, out of NY ). I've seen references to marine grade wire, I think it's tinned, but wanted your opinions on it. Is it the right stuff to use? I'd rather do it once, and do it right.

Also, any recommendations for an online source for this? Thanks in advance... Gary.

"Marine" wire is generally tinned.

i just bought some wire and terminals from:
bestboatwire.com
Also have used:
Delcity.net

Do a google search and read up on methods and means.

Wow, loads of great info on google, (much of it over my head, but still helpful) and the first site has EVERYTHING I could imagine for wire and cable. Thanks for the tip and link to that site!

Also make sure you use heat shrinks with adhesive on everything.

I few years ago we rewired the entire boat. We started with a new Mercury harness and bought most of the rest of our electrical needs from from Waytex.
