Sierra oilpan?
Would you use one?
|
I wouldn't use Sierra for anything critical or not easily replaceable.

^^^^^ What he said.

Sending two back we decided not to use them , thin gage metal not nearly as well made as factory pan.
Ended up getting Merc pans from BAM |
i have not used a sierra pan but a lot of sierra parts are equil to mercury,s in quality.
|
Canton makes a very good oil pan.
|
some of Sierra parts are actually made for Mercruiser FYI. I will give out one example Water circ pumps Sierra makes them for Merc as well.
Some of the same parts are made side by side just stamped and boxed differently. Some parts share nothing in common inwhich I would go with Merc. And then there is some parts I would not even bother buying Merc. The latest coils (T bolt) are very cheap and come from China. The gear oil reservoir is total junk from Korea. This thing is a POS for the past 3 or 4 years. I do like the Merc distributor caps and rotors. I do like Merc impellers IMO Merc spark plug wiress are very cheap as well. Just a jist of it. |
