Mercruiser 496 HO Alarm beep
 

Took the boat out this evening and when speeding up to plane I got one short beep. Slowed down, all gauges looked good. Started off again, got on plane and cruised about 5 min. Got another short beep while cruising. Slowed down, all gauges looked good. Began to cruise again, 5 min and another short beep. All gauges looked good so I continued back to the dock. No more beeps. Got to the dock and my drive lube was on the add line. Could this have been the reason for the short beep?

Have the engine scanned or bring on the dart board to throw many darts at it.

Unhook the wires to the bottle - did the alarm go away - if so you found your problem. If not what I said above ^^^^

Your "beep" is the equivalent of the Check Engine Light on your car/truck. There is no way to tell what's malfunctioning unless you have it scanned. That's why I suggested buying your own scanner in your other thread.

BTW: Always keep two bottles of engine oil and two bottles of drive oil onboard.
