Offshore Mounts

Apparently these offshore mounts will not work for my new project. Anybody have an idea of the style I need? I'm hitting both stringers.

Sounds like a great time to raise the engines and drives 2 inches.

mercury part number; 72515 starboard, 72514 port; 27 1/2 inches wide, transmission engine side by side installation. probably superseded or nla

are your stringers 31 inches in between

Yeah I agree. Need to see how it runs in stock location this summer. When I redo the transom I will see about raising the drives. Need to get a game plan together and figure out what the end goal I want.

No problem. That is the Scarab offshore mount. That is probably what might have thrown in some confusion.

I would just notch it out to fit over the stringers and gusset as necessary, if you want to use what you already have. Or call the factory and find out what they use.

Actually I would probably draw a new one in CAD, have it laser cut and weld on the engine mounts...because I love to make a project more difficult...

Cool project, was wondering what you were up to! I would almost just modify what you have and leave the motors low. I like shorties vs moving motors up, unless the transom need love. You are transferring your power from the scarab in there?

Is it to tight to remove some material from each side and re drill the bolt holes ? Hard to tell from the photo.
You also have it on the angle leg costing another inch of space.

edit, doh, looked at it on a larger screen and see its the two center that are interfering. How far does it have drop for alignment?

I'm going to measure it all up tomorrow and make sure it will be centered. I have cutoff wheels and a welder so I can pretty much do anything. lol

Haha, so you figured out my project. Yes, I'm going to transfer the power from the Scarab. Power has already been pulled. It will also need transom work in the near future. I just need to see how it run stock. Maybe find a pair of shorties to try before redoing the transom.

I just went thru the same thing on my fountain. I had to cut the front and rear plates. I used my plasma cutter and then my electric angle grinder with a flapper wheel to smooth them out.
