Bell housing mounted starter
Couple questions...
1. Are any built for standard bravo installation? The only few I've seen are more for the center motor on a triple. 2. What are dimensions above and over from crankshaft centerline and how far back does the starter hang? |
I've only seen on transmission boats with top mount starters but that doesn't mean they don't exist. Hopefully you get some answers your looking for.
|
Yeah it would just make it so much easier to get to, eliminate the bulk on the starboard side and I think could clean up even more rigging.
Also would never fail with it being so far above the water. |
I've changed starters on boats where I just lifted the engine rather than fighting it.
|
Fighting the starter in my step dads boat is what brought this on lol.

There are rear starter bell housings listed in the Swap Shop.

on a bravo there is not enough room to the transom plate for a top mount starter. that is why you only see them on the center motor or on something with the engine forward and a drive shaft.
