500 EFI timing curve strange!

Mercury scan tool shows 27 degrees of advance from 2100-5000 rpm. At 5000 it takes off and reaches 35 degrees at 5250. Same on both engines. Has anybody found this and why do they set it like this? It would seem you would be down on power if you couldn't reach 5000!

Any comments?

Thats the standard timng curve for the 500 HP. It should be smoother and yes, it's missing power below 5200. Believe it or not, on the dyno, peak power is at 5250, right after it jumps to 35.9 degrees. If you want this changed, you can send me the ECU's.

Thanks,
Dustin

Yes, about the same, 100-200 rpm max. Price per program is $300.

Thanks,
Dustin
