Rosella Oil
What version, t4, t5, t6 Rotella oil does everyone recommend for an older gen iv 502?
Thanks! |
Run joe Gibbs mr 50 and be done with oil issues. Rottela t decent oil though. Ran it in my 598. Motor did grenade on next owner after he baught from me though. Don't think oil issue though. Part failure in head I believe.

I use the 4 in my mark iv motors.

Gen IV and V is flat tappet, unless HP500's. Rotella doesn't have the zinc/phosphorous that it used to have. It was one of the last hold out's to change.
Run something with higher amts than regular street oil. |
Just to play the oil thread game...;)
My 502 Gen6 full roller came running Brad Penn 10-40. I always figured 20-50 for a boat, so was wondering if and when to move up? 70psi cold, 60psi when hot, drops to about 25psi at idle after a long run but recovers quickly to about 35psi at idle. Leave well enough alone? |
