You could also have the rav4's worked on to get some more rpms out of them.
|
I tried Hydro's, Bravo's, Rev4's and Mirages on my boat last year. The best prop was the Bravo, with the boxes. Prior to the boxes the fastest was the Hydro's. The Rev is a nice prop but the biggest you can buy is a 25, so for me, that's too small. I'd really like to try Cutting Edges new props. When you can get a custom prop for $600, IMO thats a hell of a deal if they work. BBlades changes close to that, just to do the lab work.

Can't compare the bravo 29 formula to a 35 Trs mistress totally different characteristics... even a 357 formula runs and handles 100% different then mine even being Trs...

Kinda hard to follow but what exactly were the changes from the old setup?
From reading over the past couple months, I gathered; Cams, Carbs, Intakes and porting heads???? What props were you running last year and what's the back-to back performance comparison with the same props along with the changes that were made? |
Head cleanup and port, proper springs, Cams, new intakes...
Saw solid 200 rpm gain with same props over last season so that should be the 40 ish hp I expected to see |
How does 200 rpm = 40 hp w/o a dyno pull
|
Here we go... it's a guess and good one... many know what it takes to get 200 more rpm in a. 11,500 ish pound boat to move... gain is gain that's all I care about. Pick it apart however you like
Engines run great in happy. |
I'd add steps to it like someone did to that Apache... Can't remember that boats name. Maybe that will get you where you want to be speed wise. What is/was your speed goal?
|
Not trying to break records justbwanted a best of 75 from the beginning 3 years ago... I am .7 away... then I know it will always be 70-72 mid summer... that's all I want... if I cared about fast over ride quality I would have a different boat... after 70 in rough water not many will be going faster anyway... I just get beat up less... a lot less.
|
I think just a full season of reliable boating would put anyone over the moon. You can eek out those last few mph over the season.
