That wasn't the point. Point was to try as many props as you can because you don't know what will work best on your boat.

I tried Hydro's, Bravo's, Rev4's and Mirages on my boat last year. The best prop was the Bravo, with the boxes. Prior to the boxes the fastest was the Hydro's. The Rev is a nice prop but the biggest you can buy is a 25, so for me, that's too small. I'd really like to try Cutting Edges new props. When you can get a custom prop for $600, IMO thats a hell of a deal if they work. BBlades changes close to that, just to do the lab work.

I have no experience with their bravo style props, but i had them tweak my ssm props, and was really happy with their level of service. They recieved my props , and a couple days later i had recieved a call they were done, and shipped back. The price was right too. Im gonna send them back again next week for a little more tuning.

I hear ya, so far with any engines... the bravo seem to lift transom and bow steer boat... maybe a smaller one won't... inwill keep trying things as I can

I say gut the cabin. Those old cigs had more wood down there than the building department at Menards. Rip it out and let the local beavers work with it. Maybe they can build a dam that will raise the water level on lake erie up .

Yea I would think your engines would have at least another 50hp at 5,600-5,800 than they do at 5,200 ? Your old Dyno numbers should give some idea. I found I ended up running my larger props the past few years because of the higher cruise speeds and lower exhaust noise at my 4000 rpm cruise - where I spent the majority of my time because the hull likes that speed the best - even though it would limit my top rpm's to 5,100. It had older 5" dry CMI's that you couldn't put mufflers in without blowing exhaust thru the rope seals for the tails - and they were deafening at the 4,500 rpm needed for that same cruise with the smaller props. With the SM gen III's I can run the GGB muffler inserts, which sound awesome btw, so I should be able to let the new motor spin up this year and actually use that last bit of power up at peak power rpm's.

Its possible they do now. They didnt with the old Marine Kinetics cams. They made about 5-7hp more from 5200 to 5900 if i recall.

Ouch. Those things really fell off after crossing the tq/hp threshold it seems. Another reason for Tim to be disappointed as I thought he wanted to spin to 58-6k. Hope this new setup does him right

Thanks. The biggest question mark is what made the biggest difference. Changing 3 things at once makes it hard to tell.

Good to hear you can put everything past you now.
