What are you guys using for water PSI and vacuum line?
Rigging the boat and I'm wondering what guys are doing for mechanical water pressure and vacuum hose.
I believe the autometer gauges I have come with 1/8"NPT male fittings. My water "tap" on the intake is a -3AN male (it's welded in). My vacuum port on the manifold is 1/8"NPT female. Polyethylene tubing and brass compression fittings? Thanks, Rob |

Brass compression for the vacuum on mine. The gauge fitting pretty much dictated the size for the pressure lines.

I bought other 1/8 line and ended up replacing it with this due to better durability. (oil pressure)

My boat has 1/8" poly tubing for water psi with brass compression fittings. Never had an issue or leak.
I replaced the water psi line on my Pantera with 1/8" poly tubing as well. You just have to be very careful not let it get kinked when you are running it up to the dash. |
The only line I'm running the brass compression fittings on is vacuum. Never a leak from any of them. I'm actually not sure what the other fittings are offhand. Likely AN

Poly/ brass compression fittings. 23 years old 1800hrs.

Thanks for the replies.
I appreciate the help, Rob |
I ended up doing things twice when the poly I bought from Carr was too soft (Durometer 55D) and the brass ferule would damage the connection ends.
The one I listed above is much harder and durable, (Hard (Rockwell R110)) less likely to kink but not as hard as the 10' that comes with gauges originally. That doesn`t come back from a kink as easily. |
