I was surprised of the good readings i got today from my engines... Wich makes me doubt i would rebuild them!
Maybe only do top end? They run strong so not sure why i would do the bottom. What do you knowlegable guys think?

These engines have never been opened up have they?

No! Still sealed from merc

I would pull the heads with that many hours. Do an inspection and see what you have. I would replace the valve springs at the least with that many hours.

I understand the top end affirmation, my question is to see if the bottom would need rebuild with these compression numbers...

boats74 10-02-2016 07:56 PM

Me personally, I'd just do the top ends.

A leakdown will tell you if you have a bad rings, I think....

But I would just do the top ends myself.

With those numbers, i dont think there is nothing leaking more than than it should be, neither rings, or valves! I'm lucky!!! Will see ... Tic tic tic tic....:)))

With your luck. I'd keep going. You won't get stranded. You have 3 of them
