Looking to cruise around 50-55 and before laying into the boost,. So do I really need a bigger blower? I will have higher static compression than a 525 sc and better cam so the actual boost shouldnt be that much except when I want to turn it up to 11...

Run it if thats all the power you'll want/need to make.

You could make that power N/A if you really wanted to I bet.

Damn, I kind of hope Full Force doesn't see this thread - it will make him feel even worse!

He doesn't want to / or can't raise his hatch. And yeh, he knows I'm sure.

I can give you a build that will do it na.thats was my base motor to which I kept camming up,,never did hit the plateau.:)

Boost is boost, but does a larger blower produce X amount of boost sooner? A 420, for example, produce 5lbs at a lower RPM than a 177?

given the same ratio and rpm into the same motor yes. physics.. A larger blower has more volume. Each revolution puts that volume into the motor.

Not really.

Roots SC's have a fixed displacement per rotation.

Centrifugals have stepup ratios's therefore, they will inncrease more boost as engine rpm's go up,

lol boost is whole different world... wish I procharged my 420's... long ago.... live and learn!!

hence poking at guns lately... if the right deal surfaces I may make a move... then I can have blowers without scoops... to a point anyway...

Boost may be boost, but mass airflow will be greatly different at the same boost level between the two blowers. That's why the larger blower makes more power.
