And how do you know what ideal velocity is?

I'm just saying, your theoretical engines will barely crack 600hp and 14 Apaches 600s make 1000, naturally aspirated.

You need to know the cubic inch of the motor and how much rpm it is going to spin. Based on the air demand of the bottom end you can calculate what air speed the motor wants. It's simple height x width. The port volume really doesn't mean anything. Example a Brodix bb3 332 head has roughly the same air speed in the port as an AFR 315. The Dart 345 head actually has more csa than an AFR 357 the AFR head actually has more air speed and would theoretically work on a smaller motor than the Dart 345. But yet the AFR has 12cc more volume. Advertising cylinder heads based off of Volume and CFM is a great way to market a head to the masses but is a poor way to design and build an engine.

With using simple mis used terms, a raised runner 320cc head will be smaller than a 320 standard runner head. :) LOL.

Only made 960hp 10to1 lol

What ever happened with the spread ports?

Lol sitting on the bench in my shop. Just did some motors for someone else have not hade time for my own stuff. Plus just bought a superflow 902 I have to pick up soon. All my stuff is ready to assemble just have to wash it. How about your build?

Everything is machined cleaned and ready to go together. I'm still boating on my Fountain. Probably going to run it tomorrow for the last time. Motors will come out and I'm going to build a pair of short deck 572's if money permits I'm going to put twin turbos on them. I don't have a hull to stick the 632 in yet so I'm a little reluctant to put it together. Plus I really want to start doing my own cylinder heads. I'm thinking about buying a set of castings and porting them myself.

The motors that are going to twin turbo do you have #6 drives on that boat? You have axes to a flow bench to play with for your head porting? Like me to many projects.

No #6's they just slow the boat down. Plus it's a Fountain it will sink if I hang 6's off the back... I have spare drives.

Yeah friend of mine has a flow bench at his house and builds some nice heads. So I do have some adult supervision.

Sounds like a cool thing I know the bare castings un ported are not that bad. You going spread port. If I had it all to do from scratch I would build complete turbo set up small spread port heads. With the x-block lifter layout.
