Marine Bluetooth 4.0 receiver
Anyone using Bluetooth 4.0 from your phone to one of these? Looks promising.

I bought a JL Audio Bluetooth adaptor very similar to the one above. It works great and only cost $39.00.

I use one made by Fusion, works very good no problems at all. Easy hookup and very good range, I put it in the storage box on port side.

I was originally convinced the 4.0 version of Bluetooth made for better fidelity, but after a bit more research, looks like Ver 4.0 main benefits are lower power consumption and better range.
From what I have gathered so far, it appears the codecs available with ver 4.0 is where the better sound comes from. I originally picked up the Bluetooth receiver to replace my CD changer in the back of my car that has died,,again,,but if it works out good, I'll be getting a couple more for the truck and boat. |

I picked up a JL MBT-RX and installed it in my car (installed the one in post #1 in my truck). The sound quality is very similar between the two and the JL has longer RCA cables. The range was close to 100 ft with both units. I live on the outskirts of town so there's not a lot of RF interference present.
