Winterizing?

What are you using to run thru your engines to winterize it? What brands to stay away from? How much do you let run thru your engines?

I drain my blocks by pulling my block plugs, crimp off my crossover bypass then I feed 5 gallons of RV antifreeze through them. I have 4-3/16" holes in my thermostats. Exhaust is pink after about 4.5 gallons.

same as above, but I use -100° boiler antifreeze,I get it at the plumbing supply house. If you look at the dilution rates of the rv stuff,,it doesn't take to much water to make it freeze up.stuff I use will still be slushy at -20°.

I suck up 4 gallons 50/50 then remove water pump hose drain most water out put hose back on then pull thermostat cover fill with 100% green after the 100 % I top off 50/50 till full.

I drain everything, headers, blocks, etc. Then, run 5 gallons of the pink stuff thru each engine. Then, open all the drains one last time and call it a day.

Be extra careful when removing those plastic blue plugs in the various coolers, especially in hard to reach coolers. They get brittle over time and the heads snap off and getting them out after that is not a pleasant experience. Don't ask me how I know...

No think he means the stuff fish don't like!
Some people won't use rv antifreeze because they say it don't work well. I use rv and never had a issue and I have done plenty of water systems with out a failure. Just can't mix it with water. I think using green is horable knowing there is non toxic stuff to use that works.

Alright you dickriders
I pickle my engines they are safe from corrosion. Yes I flush out engines before putting in the lake. Can't get to the block drains.
