Is that counting the winter hours when you go out in the garage, climb in the boat and sadly make vroom vroom motor noises to help with the depression that sets in when the lake freezes??

I thought I was the only one that did that...

Its good to know Im not alone

Hydraulic lifter acts as a shock absorber. There`s no "give" in a solid setup. I wouldn`t put that on an endurance deal.
That`s just me thou.

mercury marine used solid roller lifters in a lot of their endurance engines.

I do it too. With the old boat the would fit in our garage we used to turn the heat on some times in the winter and when it was good and warm in there we would jump out of the hot tube run out of the house to the garage and go in the boat drink beer and crank the radio. Then go back inside to the hot tube. Drink and repeat lol

All this custom engine building is like raising kids. Do what you think is right learn from your mistakes, move on and end the end it will be fine.

P.S. the comp elite lifters have been good for me, 280 on the seat 800+ open and a lot of of idling in my street car.

I know of many that failed the pins would fall out the bottom and cost a bunch to fix. Maybe they have it figured out now. I my self would go with morel pressure fed lifters not the cheap ones. Many of the camshaft company's sell it branded by themselves.

When you guys are saying good for a season, how many hours is that? i mean if you live in the north and only boat a small lake season could be 40 hours.

Had a friend lose an Elite on drag week this year. .903 lifter, 700 lift solid roller, not crazy.

Everything breaks.
