Silicone hose for exhaust?
 

Anyone ever used 4" silicone hose to connect to tailpipes? Much more flexible and easier to install than the stiff rubber boots. Rated @ 500* F and 275 psi burst pressure. I've had issues trying to seal the rubber boots and thought this might be a good alternative. Anyone see any issues?

Used a ton of it. never an issue. Makes life a little easier when you have alignment issues.

It's all I will use even for very short pieces.

I'm glad this was brought up. Currently have no need for it but good to know.

I use hose with wire for anything over a few inches. Don't want to sag over time. Now for elbows just the plain old rubber ones.

Thanks for the replies. Wanted to make sure it wasn't going to be an issue before installing.

I've used it in the past as well, with good results.

I recently used silicone hump connectors and short pieces of straight to tie the downstream elbows to the y pipe. ( thru prop exhaust). Way easier to work with, reduced stresses on y pipe due to movement and the blue makes the boat appear like 5 mph faster. Bought mine on that large Internet auction site that runs a with easy for pennies as compared to local Goodyear rubber and hose store.
