Battery boxes
Hello all.
What is everyone using for battery boxes? I have optima batteries. Thanks |
Not sure what everyone is doing however I have two very nice stainless NA,e brand ones I no longer need. They are a side stringer mount ones. Look new and take good battery size. Don't remember the number but anyway if u need let me know. They are nice.

I need to place the "boxes" inside a rectangle glassed in box. |

Not sure if optima will fit in them but we use rex marine boxes..
|
We have these available - http://www.diamondperformanceparts.com/home.php?cat=289

I have the ones like diamond offshore sells with top plate. Nice looking and very secure 110$ apiece.
^^^^. Thats funny. |
Here are the Gil boxes http://www.hardin-marine.com/p-12829...ttery-box.aspx

For an OPTIMA battery, like he said right off the bat.....
All of the Optima specific battery boxes seem to follow the same basic design. I forget where I got mine, I think they have a tornado in the logo... http://www.diamondperformanceparts.c...cat=289&page=1 |
Thanks for all the ideas fellas.
Much appreciated! |

I won't buy boat battery boxes again that don't have top step plate. Never had them till now, and it is WAY nicer when stepping around in the bilge.
|
If you get the Optima specific boxes then you`re always stuck with those batteries. never had any luck with any of them, red, yellow, blue. junk

I think they changed manufacturing plants in the last 5 years or so.. Maybe they are not as good as the old blue ones I have.. But like I said . I have had nothing but good lick and durability with my batteries. I charge them once in a while in the winter only.. At about 2 amps.. My stereo memory was a slow drain so I now has a master throw.. They still keep a charge for Months and Months with no activity |
I've had good luck with mine as well.
Any battery will underperform if not maintained. Pm sent MC. |

I use a red top for starting, blue top for house/overnighting.
I've had good luck with Red Tops over the years, the one in the boat is probably close to 9 years old now, the one in my truck is probably 6 or 7 years old. I had two blue tops that I bought 10 years ago that were always lazy. Finally broke down and bought a new blue top this past summer and wished I had done it a long time ago. As mentioned Eddie Marine sent out an e-mailer advertising sales on optima boxes. |
