Manual oil temp control??
Talking to a friend, manual oil tempcontrol came up, like using a valve to manually control how. I how much oil goes to the oil cooler and not using the mi h more expensive stat, just needs to be plumbed in, rounds round circle guys use this system to control oil cooling, has anyone tried this in marine? Makes sense then I can control less oil to cooker in may when lakes cold and open it more in summer when it's warmer...

pretty hard to beat the t-stat system.the last thing i want is a valve to constantly be messing with.
|
get a cooler bigger than your needs and thermostatically control the oil,,been working that way for me and all my boating friends for years,,ocean and lakes are ever changing loads on the hull,,roundy round isn't.

the mercury marine t stat oil device sends very little oil to the cooler until the t stat starts to open,it is the control valve per say.
|
Yes gonna look for those probably, the valve was a cheaper idea lol
Figure with my oil coolers being good that I would nitbhabento mess. With it much I dunno.

I'd put one of the OT2 m2m on each engine and be done with it. easily plumbed in and relatively cheap.

You could hook up a string and a return spring and if you need more oil thru the cooler just pull the string.Maybe drill some holes thru the hatch.. I like it.
