Iirc there is a plug above the fuel pump boss that if left out won't necessarily leak at idle but shoots oil out pretty bad at higher rpms. Had a drag car motor brought to me for that once a while back.

I hate to say this but I did the same thing a couple decades ago. Put a bolt in and that solved the problem. And yes it came out pretty fast.

yes

They were not dyno'd on stand just built then back to mechanic and in boat. stock valve covers are still on boat...Two procharged motors but only newly rebuilt one leaks, both superchargers went back to Procharger last year and both were still in perfect shape. They just resealed them and sent back.

That was original mechanic who had my boat a year and barely touched it, i paid a 2700 idiot tax for that.

so is the oil misted all over or puddled up in the bilge?

Not sure if misted but fills up bilge at higher rpms, i can cruise 3500 rpm and we cant see leak but all the oil is in bilge within 10 minutes. its a chore draining out the oil in a bucket from drain plug after each test outing.
