I've had 2 bravo 3 behind 496's. they don't like much of any trimming up. They don't have much slip and just a little up causes to much bow rise and loss of speed. Totally different animal than a bravo 1. If it helps my stock Chap 230ssi 496 bravo 3 1.81 ratio with 24 props runs right about 57 At 4750 rpm.

Leak down on engine?
I think that's easily a 50-55mph boat if it's setup right and healthy. |
hi sorry hadnt been on the computer for a while, not sure of the drive ratio WOT is about 4200 if i remember corectly, maybe a little more but i dont want to push it. its a 7.4litre 330hp i thnk( boat is in storage and i dont really remember) i have 26P props

i dont think the salesman lied i just think he wasnt sure, the boat has lost some speed because its not bottom painted and its in a brackish river so by the end of the season its got crap on it and this year it had barnicles because the river had a lot of salt water in it. so that sloed it down i believe. id be happy with 55 if i could get it without feeling like engine was going to blow.

Gotta keep that bottom clean. Anti-foul can knock 5mph off top end speed quite easily. No bottom paint with barnacles, weed and sludge is worse!

B3 is not a good drive for speed at all, if you make sure the bottom is clean and swap out to a bravo 1 you will see a decent increase in top end
