On the dyno testing we did with 15.5" in runner exhaust (CMI etops) and with full length headers was about 15-20 HP or +1 MPH. These were 500 ci NA w/9.5 to 1 CR at 6800 RPM.

according to what I found 40 per engine, that's a huge loss, if that's the case, hoping to dyno and see...

So with the risk of used headers, how much power is there to be gained in headers vs your sm;s? and what does that power increase equal in increased mph? now is that increase worth the possibility of a leak and the possibility of a gernaded engine? Yes, your buddy can hot glue stainless, but you have to be lucky enough to find a leak first before it does damage.
Headers can most definitly ,make more power which can make more speed but only you can decide if the risk is acceptable. As far as the holes in the transom lining up... its not that difficult to plug and recut if they dont. You have a white solid color boat, not some mega dollar spectral vomit paint job to match so its really not that hard. |

He's saying 1 7/8. Same as my Stellings and standard CMI headers. Still on the small side.
Wish we had a manifold setup just like that avail, with 2 1/8 primaries and 4.5" collectors! |
So due to issues I now need to keep stainless marine and not go headers, the other thread it was ditch SM you MUST get headers... I give up lol

For the price of new headers you could buy a different hull and throw your engines in as is manifolds and all and pick up 15 to 20 mph

Tim, the option is there, to test your exhaust, vs endeavor32s on the dyno. Thats what i would do before purchasing anything .

agree, going to move forward as planned and see how it goes..

Maybe its 10hp, maybe its 40hp, who knows. But at least youll have a solid reference, and can then decide if its worth spending the money on.
|
Your right, I keep thinking of that 38 hp difference, but then again that may also depend on engine setup, cams, heads and all... time will tell I guess..
