Engine power question N/A motor
Here are the numbers : At 5100 RPM, you have 586 HP and 606 TQ. Out of the norm right ? HP peak is at 5100 RPM. I always thought TQ should be less at peak HP. So what kind of results should I see in the boat ? Twin engine heavy V.

when you had it on the dyno what rpm did you go to?
Your peak hp was probably at 6,100-6,500
Went to 5500 limiter. Hp was dead flat from 5100 to 5500. Ran out of airflow due to heads.
Getrdunn---in first post I stated peak was at 5100. |
At 5250rpm HP and Torque cross on the charts since at this rpm torque=hp no matter what engine. So typically, under this rpm tq is greater than hp.

Hp and tq are equal at 5250 on all gas engine dynos, if not dyno was screwd up, the "other" Smitty
Lol, you answered at same time i did!
My question is how will this motor perform in a boat application ?
On a typical 4 cycle gas engine, HP peak rpm will be 1200 or so rpm after Tq Peak Rpm. I said typical. LOL. Unless limited by fuel, air/spark/valve control/or etc
I'm going to venture a guess that this engine has a 502MPI intake or some other tuned port intake ?
