Matching Powdercoat Colors
1 Attachment(s)
I have a 2008 Fountain Lightning. I'm redoing the deck hardware and a couple dash pieces. I also bought a new red/stainless Isotta Aria steering wheel. The problem I'm having is matching the existing candy red of the current gauge bezels and new steering wheel to that of anything the local powder coating shops have.
Anyone know if Eddie Fusion coat in red matches? Or if you have sucessfully matched a candy red p/c? |
Those pieces are most likely anodized, not powder coated. Might want to do a search for anodizing

I had anodized peel off on some of my bezels.

There is a nice candy trans red powdercoat that is made to go over polished parts, maybe look at that. The caveat is every part must be polished to a show shine finish. Some of the aluminium that was used in the fender racks is very low quality, dont know how well they would polish up. The cleat and bow surrounds seem to be billet alum so they will shine up with some work. PM sent

Years ago I had custom painted a Harley with a candy mix that I threw color shift pearl in. Wild color, but then the idiot decided he wanted to powdercoat the motor to match.
The shop I used for powder coating had a supplier in the Seattle area that we kept getting samples from till we matched. It was a candy powder and used different bases. We got it close but it was not cheap. May be easier just to do all the pieces. |
