didn't sound to far out from what I'm looking for, a little lumpy, how was she on fuel?

The 525EFI cam is similar to the Crane 741 but has a wider 114* lsa which I believe gives a smoother idle. Correct me if I'm wrong. Comp Cams makes a 525EFI duplicate cam.

I have a Comp K01-456-8 in my 454's. Duration @ .50 242/248. Valve lift 566/566 Lobe separation of 112. Works good. Am running with CMI's, 088 heads and 850cfm carbs. Victor Jr.intakes with 2"spacers. Idle is OK, but long idles it will tend to load up.

All things being equal, a 496 , 4.25 x 4.31, will need about 10* more duration, than a 454, and about 7* more duration than a 502 (4.00x4.47).

Stroke is a big factor in what camshaft an engine needs.

Really good ! was in a fairly light 26'Corsa with a high X dimension.. certainly needs better than stock exhaust to fight reversion with my little 439 cid engine..

I had O2 bungs in the exhaust so tuned the carb with a wideband. would idle ALL day with NO issues... :)

i started to post similar info but deleted it because i thought some would argue the fact that a smaller engine could need a bigger cam.some don,t understand the role piston speed play,s.i also think the op needs more carb.
