How to identify 15' Boston whaler YEAR

Just checking to confirm if last two digits of hin tag identify the year. It's a 15ft. Owner thought was 85 yet last two digits show 88? Any help would be appreciated.

Last 2 digits of the hin. 15 super sports were only built for a few years. Cool boats. Always wanted one can't justify $7500 for a 15' boat old and tired though

That's pretty cool. Amazing boats. I really like there hull designs and how well they hold up also.
